Egypt has signed 32 power purchasing agreements (PPAs) for solar energy projects that are being conducted in Benban, Aswan to develop the biggest solar energy park in the world, said Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity, according to Akhbar El Yom Newspaper.
The solar park’s capacity is 1,465 MegaWatt (MW), of which 500 MW have been added to the national grid so far, while the remaining electricity will be added gradually until the end of 2019, Shaker noted.
