Egypt, Senegal Explore Energy Cooperation 

Noha Khedr, Egypt’s ambassador to Senegal, met with Sophie Gladima, Senegalese Minister of Mines and Geology, to discuss ways to increase cooperation between the two countries in the fields of renewable energy and petroleum, according to Al-Ahram.

Khidr affirmed Egypt’s willingness to assist Senegal whether by undertaking renewable energy projects or training the necessary cadres in the field of energy. She added that Egypt could also provide its expertise in the Power-to-Gas  field which Senegal will benefit from after the discovery of new gas wells.

For her part, Gladima praised Egypt’s attainment of self-sufficiency in the energy field and becoming an energy exporter, in addition to its pioneering experience in Benban Solar Park in Aswan, the largest solar energy plant in Africa.
