Egypt, Romania Strengthen Petroleum Cooperation to Boost Economic Ties

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with Olivia Toderean, Romania’s Ambassador to Egypt; Horatiu Sebastian Calugar, General Manager of CIS GAZ; and the accompanying delegation.

The meeting tackled means of bolstering mutual cooperation with the Romanian companies in all the petroleum value chain, petroleum and gas equipment and tools local manufacture.

Badawi declared that the Ministry offers full support to enrich such collaboration and attract more Romanian companies’ investments to operate in the Egyptian market, that has promising potentials in the petroleum activities.

Toderean stated that Egypt is featured with many petroleum promising projects, that enhance the continious mutual cooperation.

Meanwhile, Calugar reviewed the Company’s successful projects in Romania and East Europe. He also mentioned their cooperation with Town Gas in manufacturing, assembling gas pressure reduction stations inside Egypt with Romanian components.

Calugar further mentioned that Town Gas has been accredited in ANRE as the first Egyptian company operate in this field in Europe through its branch in Romania, expressing his desire to cooperate with ENPPI and PETROJET in Romania.
