Egypt Receives Last Shipment of Iraqi Crude

Egypt expected to receive its last shipment of Iraqi crude oil—under April’s import agreement with Iraq—on October 17th, a source at the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) told Egypt Today.

The shipment would have brought the total volume of crude oil imports from Iraq under the agreement to 12 million barrels, according to Arab Finance.

The agreement was reached in April. Under the terms of the agreement, Iraq was to sell 12 million barrels of crude oil to Egypt to fill its crude oil deficit. The shipments were expected to arrive prior to the end of 2017.

In September, EGPC was reported to be considering a renewal of the agreement for an additional year.

The arrival of the shipment has not been confirmed.
