El Molla stated that his meeting with his Lebanese counterpart comes as a continuation of the discussions to follow up the executive procedures and the steps that have been taken to bring Egyptian natural gas to Lebanon. This comes within the framework of Egypt’s commitment and the keenness of the political leadership to help the Lebanese people overcome the current energy crisis by providing them with the natural gas supplies they need.

The two ministers followed up on the course of the intensive meetings held by executives from the oil and gas sector in both countries via video conference to finalize all the details related to the agreements for the supply of natural gas and to agree on the timetable for the arrival of gas.

Meanwhile, Fayad pointed out the common interest in quickly completing the necessary procedures for the arrival of Egyptian natural gas to Lebanon. He added that it was agreed to conduct an inspection and evaluation for the natural gas transmission line linking Syria and Lebanon within the framework of completing the required arrangements. This will be done to prepare the necessary infrastructure for gas transportation from Egypt to Lebanon.
