Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, and Deputy Japanese Ambassador in Cairo, Matsubayashi Kenichiro, witnessing the signing of blue ammonia production memorandum of understanding (MoU), the ministry said in a statement.
The MoU was signed by the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS)’ chairman, Magdy Galal, the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM)’s chairman, Saad Helal, and Toyota Tsusho Corporation Executive Consultant Yoshihiro Inoue.
According to the MoU, economic feasibility studies will be conducted and the best available opportunities in the oil and gas sector will be studied to implement projects for extracting and storing carbon dioxide to produce blue ammonia using the latest Japanese technologies.
The studies are set to be completed within 6 months in preparation for implementing the best projects on the commercial and environmental levels.
