Egypt, IRH Discuss Mining and LNG Cooperation

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with Ali AlRashdi, International Resources Holding CEO, on the sidelines of ADIPEC 2024 conference in Abu Dhabi to review means of mutual cooperation in mining sector.

The meeting discussed investment opportunities in the Egyptian mining sector, as Badawi mentioned the efforts exerted to develop it, and the pilot launch of Egypt’s Mining Gateway as a digital platform for investment and data acquisition.

Badawi noted that the official launch of Egypt’s Mining Gateway is set to take place at the end of 2024. The Minister invited the company to pursue the investment opportunities available in Egypt, announcing a new bid round for minerals exploitation in the Western Desert will be offered soon.

The two sides also discussed the possibility of cooperation in the field of liquefied gas trade and circulation in light of Egypt’s distinguished infrastructure, represented by the liquefaction stations in Idku and Damietta, as a quick alternative for transporting gas to foreign markets.
