Egypt’s diesel consumption rates were close to 1.15 million tons during March 2019, Abed Ezz El Regal, head of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), told Amwal Al Ghad.
Egypt produces around 518,000 tons of diesel per month through state owned and private owned refineries, covering a part of the county’s consumption needs, with imports covering around 50%, Ezz El Regal stated.
Most of the country’s diesel consumption is directed to cover the demands and electric power plants that use diesel the most, along with natural gas in the traditional generating plants.
