A delegation from the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) conducted a field visit to oversee operations at the Suez Oil Company (SUCO) and the Offshore Shukheir Oil Company (OSOCO).
The visit coincided with the commencement of operations at both companies, marked by the arrival of the Admarine 262 drilling rig and the Admarine 12 offshore barge at the SUCO fields.
The delegation included Tamer Idris, EGPC Deputy Chairman for Production; Mohamed Mohy, EGPC Deputy Chairman for Exploration and Supervisor of Agreements; Tamer Aieysh, EGPC Chairman Assistant for HSE; along with their assistants and representatives from ADES Company.
Operations in the fields commenced in line with the exploratory and production services agreement signed last March, which became effective at the beginning of August. This marks a significant success for the petroleum sector in attracting new investments.
The visit came in light of the strategy of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR) to continuously monitor petroleum activities to work to increase production.
The field visit was conducted to reinforce the Minister’s message and to demonstrate the EGPC’s commitment to supporting its partners in the sector, helping them overcome challenges and work towards increasing production in the coming period.
The delegation received a briefing from Walid El-Aasar, Chairman of OSOCO, and Ahmed Farid, General Manager of Operations at SUCO, on behalf of the company’s president, Mohamed El Khayat. The briefing covered the work mechanisms of the oil and gas processing plants, the main control rooms, periodic maintenance programs, and the execution of various operations.
During the tour, the workers discussed safety procedures and emphasized the importance of adhering to the instructions and directives of Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, to maintain the highest safety standards.
