The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) plans to pump gas for 15,000 citizens in Edco City, with 10,000 getting gas during fiscal year 2016/2017 and the remaining 5000 consumers linked within fiscal year 2017/2018, reported Al Borsa.
EGAS’ Deputy Manager for Planning and Projects, Gamal Hegazy, stated that the number of customers who contracted for gas delivery reached 5000 customers. Additionally, the company plans to pump gas to 1000 customers in Al Bosely village located on the route of the pipeline that will be pumping to Edco.
The company further pumped natural gas to Tema City which is located west of the Nile in Sohag Governorate. EGAS pumped for the city after finishing infrastructure work to serve an estimated 10,000 residential consumers.
Hegazy added that the gas pumping projects aim to deliver natural gas to high population areas. These projects will help in achieving the country’s development plan in different sectors by providing more efficient services to citizens in place of butane gas tanks.
