EGAS Renews Initial Approvals for Gas Import Licenses

The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) has renewed the initial approvals for applications made by BB Energy Trading Company, TAQA Arabia, and Energy Fleet to obtain gas import licenses, a source at the company told Al Borsa.

The approvals were renewed because the three companies have not yet submitted all the required information for a license.

All companies are required to provide information about the importer, the customers, and the amount of gas to be supplied before they can be issued a license.

Initial approvals are renewed every six months in cases where companies fail to provide all the required information.

The Natural Gas Regulatory Authority is expected to issue the first license to a private sector company by the end of 2018, an official source told Al Shorouk in July.
