A source from the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co (EGAS) stated that the company has no intentions to increase selling prices of natural gas consumed domestically or commercially, reported Amal Al Ghad.
The recent increase in electricity tariffs announced in August will not affect natural gas selling prices, as residential gas bills will remain the same for the three existing consumption brackets.
Earlier in August, EGAS responded to a request submitted by Egyptian manufacturers to decrease the selling price of gas. The company stated that current selling prices to the industry sector are lower than the cost of production, and therefore EGAS cannot endorse any reduction in gas prices for manufactures.
