Dragon Oil Commits to Expanding Investment in Egypt’s Energy Sector

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi has met with Ali Rashid Al Jarwan, President of the UAE’s Dragon Oil, in the presence of Fareed AlHashmi, Chief Operations Officer for Egypt and Iraq.

During the meeting, the energy leaders discussed fruitful cooperation through the distinguished partnership in the Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company (GUPCO).

The meeting also highlighted what the Minister observed during the field visit to Ras Shuqair last week. The visit demonstrated a strong commitment to implementing production plans, adhering to occupational safety and health requirements, protecting the environment, and relying on innovation, dialogue, and modern technologies for safe operations and achieving production goals.

Badawi emphasized the potential of the Gulf of Suez region and the importance of leveraging modern technology in various ways to expand production horizons.

Al Jarwan highlighted the support for these plans and the fruitful partnership, emphasizing the importance of the workshop previously held between the partners in GUPCO to develop a strategy for future cooperation to increase production and overcome challenges.

Additionally, Al Jarwan stressed the effort to acquire more areas and invest in their potential to expand in Egypt.
