The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced that the Decarbonization Day will be held on November 11, as part of COP27 hosted by Egypt.
This is the first time such an event is included in a climate conference or summit
The agenda of the day will include discussion panels about the efforts of the oil and gas industry to reach neutral carbon, the challenges of this target and the commitments to increase the ambitions in this regard.
The opening session will include John Kerry U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, Tarek El Molla, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Ahmed Samir, the Minister of Trade and Industry, as well as Gerd Müller, the Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
