BP Begins Trial Operations at North Alexandria Offshore Concession

Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said that British Petroleum (BP) has commenced trial operations at its North Alexandria offshore concession fields.

 The fields are to be linked to the national grid and brought to commercial production this year. Production levels from the wells are projected to reach 600m cf/d of natural gas, according to Al Borsa.

El Molla’s comments came folloing El Sisi’s meeting with CEOs of BP, Rosneft, and Eni to discuss the progress on the companies’ projects in Egypt.

The Minister mentioned that the meeting dealt with the latest updates and work progress in Zohr field, which is planned to be linked to the national grid before the end of 2017. He also pointed out that the President and the CEOs reviewed the work at wells and sea lines, as well as investment opportunities and recent discoveries by the Italy’s Eni. El Molla also said  that there is a plan to increase the production of  Noras field  during the coming period.
