Badr El Din Petroleum (BAPTECO) has produced an average of 53,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) this year, drilled 18 wells and carried out 79 well workover and recompletion operations with total investments amounting to $183 million, Chairman Ashraf Abdel Gawad told the company’s general assembly, chaired by Minister of Petroleum, Karim Badawi.
This meeting, held to approve the company’s results of the fiscal year (FY) 2024/2025, was attended by petroleum Sector leaders as well as representatives of BAPTECO’s international partners in the Western Desert, Cheiron and Capricorn Energy.
Badawi confirmed that international companies operating in the Western Desert are intensifying their activities, aiming to explore more reserves and increase production of crude oil and natural gas, pointing out that partners in Badr El Din Petroleum Company provide a strong example of these efforts through their integrated plan to enhance production.
The partners’ integrated plan to enhance production in Badr El Din Petroleum Company’s concession areas consists of four programs: reactivating mature wells, improving water flow, unlocking value from old exploratory wells, and enhancing the performance of smart lift systems.
Besides, BAPTECO is expected to contribute to adding more wells and reserves into production, given its re-processing of the seismic survey conducted in 2017.For their part, the representatives of Cheiron and Capricorn Energy affirmed their continued support for efforts to increase production through the seismic data reassessment process.
In 2017, BAPTECO started re-processing seismic data in order to put more wells and reserves in production. Last year, the company covered an area of 2,000 kilometers square.
