Baker Hughes celebrated the beginning of construction of its Oilfield Services (OFS) regional hub which is located at King Salman Energy Park (SPARK).
SPARK is a 50-square kilometer energy city megaproject, which will position Saudi Arabia as a global hub for energy, industry, and technology. It is an initiative that will capture the full economic value from energy-related goods and services on a national and regional level. Investors will be provided with an integrated environment that will contribute over $6 billion per year to Saudi Arabia’s gross domestic products (GDP).
Baker Hughes’s project is a significant milestone for SPARK which will support the company’s OFS operations and customers across the Middle East.
Commenting on this occasion, Baker Hughes Chairman and CEO Lorenzo Simonelli, “Today’s milestone reflects our continued efforts to transform our core operations to ensure we deliver to Saudi Aramco and regional customers with speed, efficiency and operational excellence.”
