Bahrain is now applying a modernization program on Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) refinery as a way of developing the oil and gas sector and increasing potential investment opportunities, Zawya reported citing Gulf Daily News.

The weekly session, chaired by Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, in the presence of  Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, stressed the importance of the refinery’s modernization.

The modernization project represents the needed value added to the oil ministry as it paves the way to increase the ministry’s contributions to the national development, the Cabinet noted, according to a statement by Cabinet Secretary General Yasser Al Nasser.
