The total production of the Badr-1 field reached 1.5 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe) during the year 2020/2021. In addition, six new wells were drilled, raising the field’s reserves to about 17.25 mboe, according to a press release.
In the same time, Projects have been carried out to increase the potential of production facilities and storage capacities on the site, which also serve a number of other production companies in the Western Desert within the framework of integration and optimal exploitation of the region’s infrastructure.
The results were declared during the General Assembly of Badr Petroleum Company (BAPETCO), which was led by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, who reviewed the results of the Badr-1 oil field in the Western Desert, which is supervised by Western Desert Operating Petroleum Company (WEPCO). EL Molla also directed the company to intensify research and exploration activities and digging new exploratory wells in order to increase production rates and, thus, enhancing the company’s contribution and competitiveness as an Egyptian company engaged in oil and gas exploration activities.
