The newly appointed Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, stated that securing the fuel needed to operate power stations, which provide electricity for households and companies nationwide, will be a top priority for the ministry.
Badawi stated in an interview with Extra News that the Petroleum Ministry will focus on enhancing oil and gas production as well as exploration efforts.
The minister further said that the ministry will focus on deploying new technologies to boost exploration and develop new discoveries in the Mediterranean, Western Desert, and all over Egypt.
Additionally, Badawi stated that the ministry will focus on developing human capacities within the petroleum sector and resolving debts owed to international companies to attract investments.
Furthermore, Badawi affirmed the ministry’s goal to complete petrochemical projects and enhance their added value to encourage new investments in the Egyptian market.
