Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, paid a surprise visit to the headquarters of the Egyptian Petroleum Services Company (EPSCO), within his regular field inspections.
EPSCO plays a pivotal role in Egypt’s oil and gas sector, supplying both technical and non-technical manpower to petroleum sites nationwide. The company also provides a wide range of support services, including catering, supplies, transportation of employees and petroleum materials, as well as assistance in drilling and production operations. In addition, EPSCO contributes to the implementation of environmental projects across the sector.
Upon his arrival, the minister held a meeting with Chairman Ahmed Shehata and senior executives, in the presence of Ahmed Randy, Undersecretary of the Central Communications Department at the Ministry. Badawi discussed the challenges that the company is dealing with to determine the kind of support and requirements needed to enhance performance.
He also stressed the company’s vital role, noting that investing in human capital development is key to achieving production targets. Badawi then issued a set of directives aimed at strengthening human capacity building, improving training and qualification efficiency, and ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations, which he described as “the cornerstone of all petroleum operations”.
He further emphasized the ministry’s full support for the sector’s companies, noting that field visits and surprise inspections will continue as part of ongoing constructive communication that helps boost performance.
