The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi met with a group of young and middle management professionals from across the petroleum and mineral resources sector to support young talents and maintain continuous engagement with employees through open discussions that strengthen teamwork.
During the meeting, held at the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ (MoPMR) headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, he reaffirmed the commitment to empowering young professionals as the cornerstone of the sector’s future development, stressing the importance of nurturing new generations capable of keeping pace with global advancements in energy and mining, tackling emerging challenges, and preparing for future leadership roles.
Also, the Minister explained that such meetings aim to instil a sense of belonging and enhance accountability within the sector. Badawi held an open dialogue with participants, listening to their ideas, experiences, and proposed solutions.
He emphasized that technology, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence (AI) are key drivers of performance improvement, urging young professionals to develop their technical skills continuously.
He pointed to the MoPMR’s efforts to expand scientific and practical training programs, encourage innovation, and support creative initiatives that contribute to higher productivity and efficiency across the sector.
Badawi praised the contributions of young professionals, noting that their innovative thinking and dedication have led to tangible improvements in performance at various sites. He concluded by emphasizng that MoPMR will continue to foster collaboration and develop programs that empower youth and strengthen the future of the petroleum and mineral resources sector.
MoPMR has long prioritized human capital development as part of its modernization program launched in 2018. A key pillar of this initiative focuses on qualifying young and middle management leaders through specialized training, mentorship, and exposure to international best practices. The Ministry has partnered with leading global institutions and oil companies to provide leadership development programs aimed at equipping emerging talents with the skills needed to manage complex operations, drive digital transformation, and implement sustainable energy strategies.
