Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with Mathios Rigas is the CEO of Energean during which they discussed the progress of the company’s operations in the East Mediterranean Sea in Egypt, including the North Idku, North El-Amriya, Abu Qir, and North East Haby regions.
The meeting also addressed on the sidelines o ADIPEC 2024 the status of the sale of Energean’s oil and gas assets in Egypt, Italy, and Croatia to Carlyle International Energy Partners, expected to be completed by 2024.
Notably, Carlyle International aims to establish a leading independent exploration and production company in the Mediterranean region through intensifying development and production operations, mergers and acquisitions, and advancing the achieving the existing carbon reduction plans.
The meeting was attended by Moataz Atef, Head of the Central Administration of the Technical Office and official spokesman for the ministry.
