Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, has issued a new round of appointments for leadership positions at Belayim Petroleum Company (Petrobel) and Agiba Petroleum Company.

Tharwat Samir Mahmoud Ahmed El-Gendy has been appointed as Chairman and Managing Director of Petrobel. El-Gendy began his career in the petroleum sector at the Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company (GUPCO) in 1998 and rose through various positions until he was appointed as General Manager for Operations at Agiba Petroleum in 2019. Later in 2023, he was appointed Chairman and Managing Director of the company before assuming his current role.

Abdel-Salam Abdel-Salam Abdo Ibrahim has been appointed as Chairman and Managing Director of Agiba Petroleum Company. He began his career as an engineer at the company in 1995 and progressed through various positions until becoming General Manager for Operations and a Board Member of the company.

Wael Fayez Rezk Mekhail has been appointed as General Manager for Operations and Board Member at Agiba Petroleum Company. He started his career at the company in 1997 and rose through the ranks within the company until he became Deputy General Manager for Production Facilities in 2012. In 2023, he was appointed as General Manager for Petroleum Engineering and Operations.

Ahmed Abdel-Aleem Abdel-Kerim Hassan has been appointed as General Manager for Meleiha fields (rotational) at Agiba Petroleum Company. He started his career in the petroleum sector at Mansoura Petroleum Company in 2006 and rose through the ranks until he became Deputy General Manager for Operations Engineering at Petrobel in 2020.
