Karim Badawi, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, has appointed Yasser Salah Eldin as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and General Manager of Jordanian Egyptian FAJR Natural Gas Company.
Salah Eldin began his career in the sector as an engineer at Egypt Gas in 1994. He rose through various positions within the company until he became Chairman and Managing Director of Egypt Gas in 2017. The following year, he was appointed as Chairman and Managing Director of the Egyptian Natural Gas Company (GASCO).
During his leadership of GASCO, the company contributed to building infrastructure to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) before the summer season, as well as connecting the new regasification ships to the national grid to secure the needs of the local market.
Badawi’s decision came after Fouad Rashad concluded his tenure as Chairman of FAJR. He had played a pivotal role in strengthening cooperation between Egypt and Jordan in the natural gas sector and opening new opportunities for Egyptian companies to share their expertise in executing infrastructure and gas network projects in Jordan.
