Alexandria National Refine & Petrochemical Company (ANRPC) has completed a new $219 million project that will increase the company’s production of 92-octane benzene and 95-octane benzene to 700,000 tons per year,Egypt Oil & Gas reports.
Mohamed Ali Hassanein, ANRPC’s head, said that the project will raise the company’s share in the total domestic consumption of benzene from 11% to 20.5% and will increase butane output to reach 38,000 tons per year.
Hassanein made the comments during the general assembly chaired by Minister of Petroleum, Tarek El Molla, to review the company’s work during fiscal year (FY) 2017/18.
ANRPC is also conducting several projects including one to treat and recycle industrial wastewater for productive units, and to re-use it in accordance with the Egyptian environmental standards, Hassanien pointed out.
