Algeria’s Sonatrach has started producing from Touat gas field with a production capacity of 12.8 million cubic meters per day, Reuters reported.

In addition, the company will produce 1,800 barrels of condensates per day.

Sonatrach’s partner at the field is Neptune Energy, which is a private equity-backed oil and gas producer.

Algeria, as a major supplier to European gas market, has a total gas output of around 135 billion cubic meters in 2018.
