Algeria’s natural gas exports to Spain recorded 9.6 billion cubic feet (bcf) during 2020, representing 29% from the market stake to become the first supplier of natural gas for Spain, a statement issued by Sonatrach announced.

Additionally, the Algerian’s gas exports to Italy has reached 14.8 bcf, increasing by 12% compared to 2019 and raising its market share to 22% compared to 18% during 2019.

Spain’s imports of natural gas declined by 13.5% to 32.6 bcf in 2020 compared to 2019. In addition, Italian natural gas has decreased by 8% to 66 bcf during 2020 versus the previous year.
