OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais has congratulated Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla for the success of the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES) 2024, which was held on 19-21 February.
This came on the sidelines of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) held in Algeria.
Al Ghais noted that EGYPES is being developed from year to year and it attracts high-level participation from all over the global energy sector.
The two parties affirmed the key and continuous role of the oil and gas industry in securing global energy supplies in parallel with developing renewable energy resources, especially with the provision of decarbonization and emissions reduction technologies from all oil and gas processes.
Additionally, the two sides affirmed the need to boost dialogue between all parties and pump more investments into developing energy resources.
The meeting sought to explore ways to enhance cooperation between the Egyptian petroleum sector and OPEC.
Moreover, El Molla underlined the role of OPEC in ensuring the petroleum market’s stability and balance, although the successive global challenges.
