Egypt’s energy sector received approximately 84% of the country’s foreign direct investment (FDI) during the first quarter of 2017/2018, Amwal Al Ghad reports.
With FDI at $3 billion dollars during the quarter, the energy sector received approximately $2.5 billion from FDI.
During fiscal year (FY) 2016/2017, net FDI in the oil sector rose 135% from $1.7 billion in FY 2015/2016 to $4 billion in FY 2016/2017, according to the statistics of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
