The solar park in Benban, Aswan will be 50% complete in June 2019, Hesham El Gamal, head of Benban Solar Energy Developer Association, told Amwal Al Ghad.

The companies establishing the solar park include Infinity Solar; TAQA Arabia, Alcazar and FAS Energy.

The companies have already commercially started operating some plants and are done with 40% the power plant’s projects, El Gamal noted.

The Egyptian government has high hopes for the Benban Solar Park to contribute to the 2030 Strategy and to produce 20% of Egypt’s renewable energy.
