Khalda’s Qasr Compression Project: Monthly Progress Report (November 29 to December 27, 2013)

Qasr is a large, normally pressured gas-condensate reservoir located in the Western Desert, approximately 525 km west of Cairo. The field is operated by Khalda Petroleum Company (KPC), a joint venture between Apache Khalda Corporation and Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC).

Khalda Progress of the Hydra Gas Development Project

The Hydra Gas Development Project of Khalda Petroleum Company initiated on April 4th 2013, and is set to complete its first phase on March 31st this year with the second phase to end September 30th. Genesis has been contracted for engineering and procurement support, while construction and installation is contracted by Petrojet. The project’s budget is USD 50 million for a USD 2.1 million expenditure. The issue date for the project was October 10th 2013, and its project managers are Neil Clark and Eng. Mohamed Ismail.

Construction of the East Baharia Power Station

Foreign partners have agreed to fund an electricity station to produce up to 8,000 barrels, and attract investments amounting to USD 47 million. This is following the company's success in reducing the cost of barrels, and maximizing the use of natural gas to manage all machinery and pumps-under the guidance of the Minister of Petroleum and the President of EGPC-that will reduce the imported amount of diesel and currency, made possible by the confidence of foreign partners in the feasibility of such projects.

Gas Pipeline Project at North West Gemsa Field

PetroAmir, established in March 2010, is a joint venture between EGPC and Greek firm Vegas Oil & Gas. PetroAmir was established for the development and production of the North West Gemsa (Amir) Field in the Zeit Bay area of the Red Sea. The monthly production, as of June 2013 is approximately 317,184 bbl of oil and 361 MMscf of gas.

Khalda Gas Compression Project

The Qasr Gas Compression Project (QGCP) is designed to improve recovery at the gas-condensate Qasr reservoir in the Western Desert. The reservoir is located approximately 525 km west of Cairo and is operated by Khalda Petroleum Company (KPC), a joint venture between Apache Corporation and Egyptian General Petroleum Company (EGPC). ENPPI is the original contractor for the project and Eng. Ayman Saleh is the KPC Project Manager.

KPC 24” Abu Gharadig-Dahshour Pipeline Repair Project

The Khalda Petroleum Company is undertaking the 24'' AG/ DAH Pipeline Repair Project. The project is under the supervision of the Project Managers Neil Clark and Engineer Mohamed Ismail, and was contracted by PETROJET.

Power Generation Project at East Baharia

Qarun Petroleum Company has obtained approval from Apache Corporation for the construction of a new dual fuel power station in East Baharia. East Baharia is one of the key production areas for Qarun with a production rate of 10,000 BPD. This project was initiated to allow Qarun to gain more achievement in oil production while at the same time minimizing the oil to barrel production cost.

PhPC East Nile Delta Phase 3

This work plan describes the governance agreement, contract strategy and organizational staffing plan for the appraisal phase of the East Nile Delta Phase 3 project team. Pharonic Petroleum Company (PhPC) has identified several wells and associated facilities for utilization over a three-year period. A single task force will administratively coordinate the project in order to achieve optimum efficiency and coalescence amongst project team members and independent contractors. The unified administrative team will also produce scheduling and capex benefits.

PhPC – WHX Project

Pharonic Petroleum Company (PhPC) is a joint venture company established in Egypt between EGPC, BP and IEOC. PhPC currently operates three natural gas production fields located offshore the Egyptian sector of the Mediterranean Sea. The fields were coined as the Ha'py, Akhen and Taurt fields.

Toyo and ENPPI, Ethylene Plant in Ethydco Complex

Toyo Engineering Corporation (TOYO, President and CEO Yutaka Yamada) and ENPPI, an engineering company under the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum, have been jointly awarded a contract to build a 460,000 T/Y ethylene plant and a 20,000 T/Y butadiene extraction plant as part of Ethydco's petrochemical complex to be established in Alexandria, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and owned by ETHYDCO (The Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company), a newly established company under the investment law no. 8/1997 of Egypt. This will be TOYO's second ethylene plant in Egypt after 300,000 T/Y ethylene plant completed in 2001 for Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals Co. (SIDPEC).
