Egypt has recorded the third place among Arab natural gas consuming countries, as it consumes 11.8% of the Arab natural gas total consumption, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.
Egypt’s natural gas consumption further recorded 12.6% of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC)’s usage, according to Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS)’s study “Egypt’s Energy Future Between (2002/2003-2015/2016)”.
Egypt’s natural gas consumption increased by 75.1% during the period from 2002/2003 to 2015/2016, reaching 36.8 million metric tons (MT) from 21 million MT.
Meanwhile, the country’s natural gas output rose by 46.8% during the same period, to be 31.3 million MT, from the 21.3 million MT production.
