Red Sea Oil Spill Not Caused By Rigs, Egypt’s Oil Ministry Says

The Egyptian Oil Ministry said crude oil that washed ashore at a major Red Sea beach resort area was leaked by a passing tanker or may have seeped from the ground due to a heat wave, but was not from any of its rigs.

Egypt Oil & Gas newspaper (EOG) learned that Qarun Petroleum Company (QPC) is in the process of drilling three new wells by the end of this year, in the two fields "Gharibon" and " Sohba" located in its acquisition area in the Eastern Desert. The total estimated investment of three wells expected to reach $13 million, after conducting the needed 3D seismic survey.

Egypt Oil & Gas learned that Esh El Mallaha Petroleum Company (Eshpetco) asked the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) for lending it a rig from one of the other sister companies which is close to its concession area or even through issuing a bid round.

TransGlobe to hire 1500hp rig

Egypt Oil & Gas learned that TransGlobe Energy Corporation is about to issue a bid round to hire a drilling 1500hp rig. The International oil and gas explorer will use the rig in drilling within its concession area in El-Nokkra in order to accomplish its drilling plan.

EDC buys Mubarak-4 and Mubarak-5 oil rigs

Egypt Oil & Gas knew about a deal finalized between the Egyptian Drilling Company (EDC) and the Egyptian-Chinese Petroleum Co for Manufacturing Drilling Rigs.
