USA's General Electric (GE) is planning a 150MW wind power plant in Egypt. The Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC) and GE are currently working on finalizing the deal, officials at the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy said
The Ministry of Electricity expects to sign six new agreements for Chinese investment in Egypt’s electricity infrastructure during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit in January.
Egyptian Petroleum Minister, Tarek El Molla, said that Egypt is “suffering” from fuel subsidies and that funding for subsidies are better spent on other areas, such as health and education.
