Badawi in Talks with Survey Firms to Build Egypt’s National Mining Database

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with representatives from the Arabian Geophysical and Surveying Company (ARGAS), Metatek, Excalibur, and Novia. Specialized in aerial surveying and seismic imaging, the companies discussed with the minister collaborating on a national project to create a comprehensive geological database for all of Egypt. The goal is to make data accessible to both local and international companies interested in mining investments.

Egypt signs New Gas Exploration deals with Eni and bp

The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC); and the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) signed a new incentive-based agreement with Italy’s Eni—represented by its Egyptian subsidiary, the International Egyptian Oil Company (IEOC)—and bp, to initiate exploration activities in the Mediterranean Sea.

During his visit to the UAE, Karim Badawi, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, met with his counterpart and the Chair of the International Affairs Office at the Presidential Court to discuss deepening regional cooperation between Egypt and the UAE. Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, held a meeting with Mathios Rigas, CEO of the Greek company Energean, at the Ministry's headquarters in New Alamein City. They focused on expanding the application of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technologies, leveraging the Greek company's expertise and the alignment between Egypt and Greece in adopting environmental sustainability solutions and reducing carbon emissions.

Egypt, China Advance Major Petrochemical Project in SCZONE

An unbinding framework agreement was signed in the Chinese capital, Beijing, between the Red Sea National Petrochemicals Company and the China National Chemical Engineering Company (CNCEC), for the implementation of the Red Sea Petrochemical Project in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).

Badawi, Shell Review Gas Investments in Egypt

Karim Badawi, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, met with a high-level delegation from Shell Global to discuss the latest developments in the company's natural gas investments in Egypt, particularly in the West Delta Deep Marine (WDDM) concession area. The meeting followed up on the results of Phases 10 and 11 of the gas production project. Both parties also discussed expansion plans, including launching new production phases in the region and exploring further promising natural gas potential.

Agiba Petroleum Boosts Production by 4,100 boe/d with “Arcadia-28” Well

Agiba Petroleum Company, a joint venture between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and IEOC, part of Italian Eni, was able to add an estimated 4,100 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) to its production capacity. The production boost is a direct result of it bringing the “Arcadia-28” well online on July 19, 2025. The well, targeting the underground rock layer formation “Masajid Carbonate”, was commissioned after a precise acid stimulation operation— a well treatment technique similar to those used in the “Iris” well, Agiba's recent oil and gas discovery located in Egypt’s Western Desert.
