PM Reviews Efforts with Ministers to Secure Egypt’s Energy

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting with Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources; and Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, to discuss several issues, including the efforts to secure the necessary fuel for operating power plants, the executive status of new and renewable energy projects connected to the national grid, and the status of payment arrears owed to foreign partners.

Badawi outlines Egypt’s Energy Strategy at OPEC Meetings

During the 9th International Seminar hosted by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in Vienna, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, delivered a keynote address at the ministerial session, "Pathways to a Resilient Energy Landscape." Badawi underscored energy's vital role in economic growth, emphasizing Egypt's balanced strategy for an optimal energy mix. He detailed this approach, which includes boosting oil and gas production, reducing emissions and carbon intensity, and expanding renewable energy and hydrogen use to ensure a sustainable and secure energy future.

Aton Resources Reports High-Grade Gold, Silver Intersections at Abu Marawat

Canadian miner Aton Resources has reported drilling results showing gold grades of 33.86 grams per ton (g/t) and silver grades of 419 g/t at the Abu Marawat deposit, part of its retained exploration areas within the Abu Marawat concession in Egypt’s Eastern Desert. The company has completed 113 drill holes that totaled 9,642 meters on undrilled surface zones with concentrated minerals. It began operations in June 2024 via a diamond drilling program at horizontal and shallow angles to optimize penetration through mineralized rock formations.

ETHYDCO Becomes First Egyptian Petrochemical Company to Complete Carbon Footprint Assessment

The Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company (ETHYDCO) completed a comprehensive carbon footprint study for all its operations. The study was carried out by the company's General Department of Environmental Protection, in cooperation with the Petroleum Safety and Environmental Services Company (PetroSafe) and Integral.

It will focus on unlocking investment opportunities in Egypt and across the Arabian Nubian Shield, while addressing geological challenges to access untapped mineral resources, and highlighting the importance of creating an investor- friendly environment.

Egypt, Azerbaijan Explore Petroleum Trade, Upstream Investment Opportunities at OPEC Seminar

The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, met with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov, to discuss joint cooperation opportunities between the two countries in the oil and gas sector.
Both sides reviewed available capabilities and existing infrastructure to facilitate cooperation and knowledge exchange in means that serve mutual interests and strengthen economic partnership, the Ministry of Petroleum said on Wednesday. Minister Badawi also met on the same day with the Secretary General of OPEC, Haithem El-Ghais, where the two sides exchanged views on global oil market developments and efforts to maintain balance and stability in energy markets amid geopolitical shifts and current volatility.

Burullus Gas Company Brings Sparrow West-1 Development Well Online

Burullus Gas Company brought the Sparrow West-1 development well online, adding it to the production map as part of Phase 11 of the West Delta Deep Marine (WDDM) project. This development aligns with the first pillar of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ strategy to maximize domestic natural gas production to meet the needs of various economic sectors, as well as those of households.

Natural Gas Reaches Homes in Al Hammam City

Modern Gas has connected natural gas to El-Hammam City in Matrouh Governorate. The company plans to supply 8,000 homes with natural gas, making it the third city in Matrouh Governorate to receive natural gas.

GUPCO Organises Three HSE Training Courses For Employees

The Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company (GUPCO) held three training courses, which saw the participation of 51 trainees out of a total of 190 targeted for the program. These courses are part of a comprehensive training plan aimed at raising employee's efficiency and enhancing their practical and theoretical capabilities. The training program used the application of Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) concepts, which focus on designing organizational systems characterized by flexibility and the ability to accommodate human errors.
