Badawi, Energos CEO Review Egypt’s Expanded LNG Import Infrastructure

Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, met with Arthur Regan, CEO of Energos Infrastructure Management LLC,  a US-based company involved in deploying Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRU)  to review ongoing cooperation in the field of developing infrastructure for imported liquefied natural gas (LNG) through FSRUs that are currently operational. 

During the meeting, Badawi stressed that Egypt has successfully established a robust LNG import infrastructure with a capacity of up to 2.25 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d) in record time.

Supreme Council of Energy Discuss Energy Supply for Industrial Projects

Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy chaired on Thursday the 23rd meeting of the Supreme Council of Energy with ministers to discuss providing the necessary infrastructure and energy for a number of energy-intensive industrial activities, as well as supporting national and investment projects. The Council reviewed requests from ministries, authorities, and companies to secure electricity and natural as for some some projects including 14 new industrial projects and existing facilities to boost capacity for their expanded production lines.

Egypt’s Natural Gas Production to increase by 2027: Madbouly

The government's regular monthly payment of accumulated arrears for foreign partners would encourage them to return to produce at the previous high output levels, boosting Egypt's natural gas supply by 2027, said Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, during the cabinet's weekly meeting on Wednesday.

The increased production capacity of the Zohr field is another factor Madbouly cited for the expected recovery in production level.

Egypt's production volume had been low, dropping from more than 6.6 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d) to 4.1 bcf/d over the last two to three years, said the Prime Minister.

Badawi Checks the National Gas Network Readiness for Peak Demand in an Unannounced Visit

Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR), paid a surprise visit to the National Gas Network Control Centre (NATA) at the headquarters of the Egyptian Natural Gas Company (GASCO) on Wednesday to inspect the network’s operational readiness and contingency plans for handling potential surges in consumption during peak power demand months. Badawi listened to a detailed briefing from Yasser Salah El-Din, Chairman of GASCO, on the network’s operational preparedness.

NDC Sees Increase in Net Profit in H1 2025

The National Drilling Company (NDC), an Egyptian oil and gas services provider, has recorded a rise in net profits to $3.699 million during the first half (H1) of 2025, from $3.185 million the same period last year, according to the Egyptian Exchange. Furthermore, the company's operating revenues rose to $12.098 million in H1 2025, compared to $9.294 million H1 of 2024.

NORPETCO Drills 13 New Wells, Adds 1.5Mn Barrels in Reserves in FY 2024/2025

North Bahariya Petroleum Company (NORPETCO) has commenced crude oil production from the Ferdous-23 well, drilled 13 new wells exceeding its annual target, and added 1.5 million barrels of proven reserves. The statement was made during the company's General Assembly, headed by Salah Abdel Kerim, Chairman of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), to approve its work results for the fiscal year (FY) 2024/2025.

EUG Attracts Over $1.2Bn in Investments Since Launched: Gateway Project Manager

Mohamed Radwan, Ganoub El Wadi Petroleum Holding Company's (Ganope) Vice Chairman for Agreements and Exploration and Egypt Upstream Gateway's (EUG) Project Manager at the Ministry of Petroleum, revealed that the gateway, now comprising 47 member companies, has attracted investments worth over $1.2 billion for the purpose of drilling 127 wells in 51 areas since its launch in February 2021. The figures were mentioned in his review of the gateway's achievements, in partnership with the international company Schlumberger, in a meeting with MoMPR Minister Karim Badawi. He also reviewed the team's efforts in supporting investors' decisions 

Badawi, Polyserve CEO Discuss New Phosphate Project

Karim Badawi, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, met with Mostafa El Gabaly, CEO of Polyserve for Fertilizers and Chemicals to discuss speeding up the launch of a new project developed by the group to extract, process, and utilize phosphate to be used  in  producing phosphate fertilizers and phosphoric acid.

Badawi Reviews Progress on Red Sea Petrochemicals Complex

Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources held a meeting with leaders of petroleum companies to follow up on the progress of the Red Sea National Petrochemicals Complex project.
Set to be established in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, the complex is one of the most important projects supporting the Egyptian economy, given its economic value through increasing local production and offering alternatives imports, Badawi noted. The project is implemented with Egyptian investments, which would greatly reduce the import bill and maximize the added value of crude oil by converting it into products previously imported from abroad, he added.

Dana Gas Net Profits Surge in H1 2025, Driven by Strong Performance in Egypt and Iraq

Dana Gas, one of the major natural gas companies in the Middle East,  reported a  1%  increase in net profits during the H1 2025,compared to the same period of last year to reach AED 270 million ($73 million) thanks to new investment momentum in Egypt and strong operation in Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI).

In a company press release on the results, Dana Gas highlighted the successful drilling of the first well in Egypt under its new investment program, with a successful outcome. In July, the company announced the successful drilling and completion of Begonia-2, the first of 11 planned wells, confirming 9 billion cubic feet (bcf) of gas reserves and expected production of 5 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d).
