Ministers of Petroleum, Environment, Civil Aviation Advance Coordination on ESAF Project

The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, held a joint meeting with the Minister of Environment, Yasmine Fouad, and Minister of Civil Aviation, Sameh El-Hefny, to explore coordination mechanisms among the three ministries to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF)–a project implemented by the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM) as part of the ministry's green strategy.

ESAF, a $530 million investment project, is expected to produce 120,000 tons of SAF annually, utilizing advanced hydrotreatment technologies.

Petroleum Leaders Inspect Zohr Field’s Subsea Cable in Norway

The Vice Executive Managing Director For Production and Fields Development of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), Abdel Nasser Khafagy, Chairman of Belayim Petroleum Company (Petrobel), Khaled Mowafy, and representatives of Baker Hughes, have conducted an inspection visit to the Nexans global plant in Halden, Norway, to follow up on the manufacturing of the giant subsea power cable for the southern area of the Zohr Field–a pivotal step in maintaining the sustainability of well operations and production rates from the field.

Methanex Egypt Completes Pipeline Construction for Methanol Delivery to SMD Plant in Damietta Region

Methanex Egypt has completed the construction of a 450-meter pipeline and installed a transfer pump to deliver methanol directly to the nearby Suez Methanol Derivatives (SMD) plant in Damietta. This project, which started in April 2023, also includes maintenance services and the supply of up to 160 tons of methanol per day under their agreement.
