Petrobel Resumes Drilling at Zohr Field,  Petroshrouk  Targets Producing 144,000 boe/d

During the general assembly meeting, the Chairman of Belayim Petroleum Company (Petrobel) Khaled Mowafy affirmed the resumption of drilling at the Zohr field after the arrival of the Saipem 10000 drilling rig in Egyptian waters. Regarding Petroshrouk, Mowafy explained that $320 million has been allocated for operations.

Agiba Petroleum Plans to Produce 24,000 bbl/d During FY 2025/26

Africa’s Refining Sector: Pathways to Energy Security, Economic Growth

During the second day of the EGYPS 2025 conference, Hisham Tawfik, Chairman and CEO Consultant of Enppi, participated in a panel discussion titled "Scaling Up Energy Security Through Investment In Africa's Downstream Sector." Alongside industry leaders from Nile Delta Petroleum Company, DNV Africa, Chevron Egypt, and Axens, Tawfik discussed the challenges and opportunities in Africa's refining sector. The panel highlighted the continent's vast potential and untapped investment opportunities, emphasizing the need to develop refining infrastructure to ensure energy security. They panelists noted the anticipated rise in petroleum demand from 4.1 million barrels per day to over 5.3 million by 2040, underscoring the importance of enhancing refining capacity and distribution. Tawfik highlighted Enppi's role in modernizing Egypt's refineries and distribution and production facilities, stressing the importance of technology and digital transformation in improving operational economics and reducing reliance on petroleum imports.

Egyptian Petroleum Sector Advances Digital Transformation, Strategic Partnerships

The second day of EGYPES 2025, marked the signing of several agreements that focused on digital transformation, natural gas, and capacity building. The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) partnered with Cisco to establish a unified data center for digital transformation and cost reduction. EGPC also signed protocols with Nalco Water Downstream to boost operational efficiency and environmental compliance. ENPPI signed agreements with AVEVA, Siemens Egypt, and IBM Consulting to enhance digital transformation and training. EGAS and Romania's Transgaz explored natural gas distribution and investment opportunities. Petroleum Marine Services (PMS) signed a tripartite MoU with AVEVA and Mico Engineering Egypt for digital transformation and training, and also partnered with Misr El Kheir and Dar Al Orman for community development.
