Zohr field’s natural gas production will exceed 3 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d) by the end of 2019, an official source at Belayim Petroleum Company (Petrobel) told Amwal Al Ghad.
The field’s current production recorded over 2 bcf/d, which directly contributes to help Egypt reach natural gas self-sufficiency by the end of 2018, the source noted.
The remaining drilling work at the field is ongoing according to a time frame set by Eni and the Ministry of Petroleum, in addition, it is going in line with the ministry’s preparation to export gas during 2019 after meeting the local market demands and achieving a surplus.
