Wintershall Dea Produces 35,000 boe/d from Egypt

Wintershall Dea asserted the importance of Egypt’s assets in its portfolio. “Production-wise, Egypt continues to be an important part of our portfolio,” Paul Smith, Wintershall Dea’s CFO told Egypt Oil & Gas, confirming that the total production from the Egyptian fields recorded 35,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d).
This came during the Media Video Call with CEO Mario Mehren and Smith on Q2 2022 results.
Globally, Wintershall Dea reported stable operational performance with an average production of 623,000 boe/d for Q2, which is a 2% higher Year on Year (YOY), compared to 613,000 boe/d in Q2 2021.
The company also announced further development of its wide Carbon Management & Hydrogen strategy. Wintershall Dea aims “to build a complementary business capable to abate 20-30 million tons of CO2 per annum by 2040 in a phased manner,” the company stated.
