UOG Commences Drilling ASD-2 Well in Abu Sennan

United Oil & Gas PLC announced that it started to spud the ASD-2 development well in Abu Sennan license in onshore Egypt.

The company said that it targets potential gross estimated at 5.5 million barrels (mmbbls) STOIIP according to the operator’s estimates in the Abu Roash C reservoir, and will test a secondary target in the Abu Roash E reservoir.

It is worth noting that United has a 22% working interest in the license, which is operated by Kuwait Energy Egypt (KEE).

According to the statement, this well was the first of the fully funded 2022 Abu Sennan drilling campaign which involves the drilling of four wells.

The drilling campaign is a follow-up to the commercial discovery that was made by the ASD-1X exploration well in 2021.
