The United Arab Emirates (UAE) considers 2019 an important step towards diversifying its energy mix, said UAE energy minister Suhail Al Mazrouei, according to Reuters.

The country is preparing for fuel load of unit 1 of Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant, which is scheduled to take place between the end of 2019 and early 2020, the minister added.

The plant will provide the country with decades of emissions-free electricity.
