Two Egyptian Pipelines to Start Operations in 2019

The Petroleum Pipelines Company (PPC) is close to finishing the double-line Ras Bakr-Assuit pipeline, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

Company head Abdel Moneim Hafez told petroleum minister Tarek El Molla that the work will increase the speed and efficiency of butane transmission to Assuit, Cairo and Suez. The company expects to start operating the pipeline in Q1 2019.

The company is also projected to finish the construction of a mazut pipeline between El Sokhna and El Tebin next year, and it is expected to begin operating in Q4 2019.

The PPC chief made the comments during a general assembly meeting with El Molla to assess the company’s performance during the 2017/18 fiscal year.

PPC is also in the process of linking the Sonker butane pipeline to the Shokeit-Suez-Kattameya butane pipeline.
