TotalEnergies Unveils Sustainability, Climate 2024 Progress Report

TotalEnergies has released its Sustainability and Climate 2024 Progress Report, providing the company’s strategy and the progress made in 2023 with regard to the objectives for 2030 in terms of emissions reductions and its contribution to a just, orderly and equitable energy transition for all its stakeholders.

The report highlights the company’s focus on a balanced multi-energy strategy, combining profitable growth and sustainable development, with a strong emphasis on oil & gas, particularly LNG, electricity, and renewable energy.

TotalEnergies has achieved 34% in Scope 1+2 emissions reduction in Scope from operated oil & gas facilities compared to 2015. The company also achieved a 47% reduction in methane emissions on operated facilities in 2023 compared to 2020.

Additionally, the company’s LNG sales are estimated to have contributed to avoiding about 70t of CO2e emissions worldwide in 2023.

TotalEnergies invested over $5 billion in 2023 in low-carbon energies, significantly reducing the lifecycle carbon intensity of energy products sold to its customers. The company aims to become a major player in the energy transition, committed to carbon neutrality by 2050.

Moreover, TotalEnergies has launched “Care Together,” increasing its commitments to social responsibility by guaranteeing compliance with high social standards for all its employees worldwide, regardless of the legislation in force in any given country.

This program focuses on social protection, health, the family sphere, and working conditions.

Notably, the Sustainability & Climate – 2024 Progress Report will be submitted to a consultative vote at the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting on May 24, 2024, as part of the company’s commitment to sustainable development and energy transition toward carbon neutrality.
