Sukari Ramps up Production by 53% in Q1 2021

The Sukari gold mine ramped up production by 53% in Q1 2021 compared to Q4 2020, amounting the total production to 104,047 ounces (oz), according to a press release .

Centamin, the operating company of the mine, added that gold sales were 106,573 oz which increased by 34% Quarter-on-Quarter (QoQ) and the revenues generated of $190 million from gold sales which increased by 26% QoQ.

The company added that the average realized price of gold recorded $ 1,778 per ounce. In addition, the total cash costs of production were $76.3 million increased by 4% QoQ.

It is worth noting that the company is in a strong financial position with net cash and liquid assets totaling $330.7 million as at 31 March 2021. The company also is unhedged and debt-free.
