South Pars gas field phase 14 refinery is set to be fully operational by the end of Iran’s next calendar year (June 21, 2021), according to Tehran Times.

The development project manager of phase 14, Mohammad Mehdi Tavasoli-Pour, announced “The project’s engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) progress is currently at about 83 %.” Despite all the turbulence in the world markets at present, Tavasoli-Pour is confident that the refinery will be operational by June 2021.

The offshore section of phase 14 is currently fully operational and producing 56 million cubic meters (mcm) of gas per day.

Platform 14D, which was the last platform of phase 14 of South Pars gas field development project, was installed on its designated offshore jacket in early February. Phase 14 operations started in summer 2018.

South Pars gas field accounts for the world’s 8% of proven gas reserves and roughly 18 billion barrels of condensate.
