Sound Energy, the Moroccan upstream gas company, plans to abandon the TE-9 well due to the lack of producible gas, Pipeline Oil and Gas Magazine reported.
The company failed to detect the existence of producible gas after drilling to a depth of 2,925 meters, and will now plug the well.
TE-9 is one of three wells in the Tendrara area to be drilled by Sound Energy. The company now plans to drill in the TE-10 location to target a play thought to contain 2.6 trillion cubic feet of mid case gross gas in place.
