As a part of the efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in strategic petroleum projects, the Petroleum Projects and Technical Consulting Company (PETROJET) hosted a delegation from Algeria’s Sonatrach led by Nour Eddine Daoudi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company.

The visit came on the sidelines of the Algerian delegation’s participation in the Joint Egyptian Algerian  Business Council meeting,

Walid Lotfy, Chairman of PETROJET, affirmed the company’s pride in its partnership with Sonatrach and its commitment to enhancing cooperation in the coming period to implement strategic projects in Algeria, according to the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR) statement. The Algerian delegation toured PETROJET’s central manufacturing complex for local components of petroleum projects in Katameya and the company’s headquarters in New Cairo.

During the visit, Daoudi praised the development in PETROJET’s capabilities, not only in manufacturing, but also in the diversity and development of its activities and its strong performance in recent years. He considered this a solid foundation for the cooperation, currently under study, regarding the establishment of a joint manufacturing complex with PETROJET in Algeria.

This cooperation represents an extension of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and the Algerian Ministry of Energy in 2022, which was followed by the signing of an MoU between Sonatrach and PETROJET. This establishes a new phase of strategic partnerships between the two parties.

PETROJET recently received a preliminary award for the implementation of a major project in Algeria as general contractor for Phase 2 development of the Hassi Bir Rekaiz field in Algeria, valued at $1.087 billion.
